CONCRETE AGGREGATES Aggregates are grained materials used in constructions,
which can be of three types, namely; natural, synthetic or
reclaimed. Natural aggregates are aggregates that are supplied
from mineral sources and which are not held subject to any
process except mechanical; synthetic aggregates are mineral
based aggregates produced through industrial processes involving
heat or other applications; and reclaimed aggregates are
aggregates obtained by processing inorganic materials previously
used in constructions. In the related standard, the aggregate
that is composed of a mixture of coarse and fine aggregate
particles is named mixed aggregate and the materials that
are added into building materials with the aim of bringing
in some features, the majority of which go through 0,063
mm mesh sieve, are specified as filler aggregates.
